His Majesty Fon Kamanda Kimbi of Talla village in Ndu Sub Division Donga Mantung Division is the winner of this the Vanguard Media Group International Icon Award as " the most venerated Fon of Mbum Land".
The award was conferred on the Fon at the ceremonial Hall of Talotel in Bafoussam Saturday 19th April 2025.
While conferring the award to the pioneer President of the Mbum Fon's Union, the Inspector General of Services at the West Governor's office, Suh Ndele Patrick, saluted the immense contribution of the Fon in promoting living-together, peace, development and most importantly the culture of the Mbum people.
"To have been singled out as a recipient of this award out of the 500 Fons of the North West is remarkable. I have served in the North West in several places, and I can attest to the good work you have done for the Wimbum people. I wish to encourage you to continue making Mbumland and envy of the North West." Suh Ndele said.
To the Publisher of The Vanguard Newspaper, Chifu Edward, the down to earth approach of the Fon in handling very sensitive issues of the palace and the time he spent at the helm of the Mbum Fon's Union is remarkable. The highly respected Fon of Talla village who doubles as the "Tang Clan "head with ten villages under his administration, has seen reciprocal respect instilled in the village and greatly fosters development.

Accompanied to the event ground by a huge crowd of Mbum people, they paid their respect to the Fon and regarded him as an agent for development, prosperity, and peace.
Speaking through his spokesperson, Abanda Alphones, the Fon appreciated The Vanguard Media Group for the award which he said was a call to more to his people. He prescribed peace to his subjects, respect for institutions and respect of their host communities while upholding the cultural relics of the Mbum people.
One of the most remarkable achievement of Fon Kamanda. Charles Kimbi of Talla village is his yearly participation in the organization of the Ndeer-lah festival in Bamenda which showcases the rich culture and tradition of the Mbum people.
