Promise Made, Promise Kept; Mayor Chenwi Peter fulfils pledge to Presbyterian Church Ntamulung

In a demonstration of his commitment to supporting community development projects, Bamenda II Mayor, Chenwi Peter, has donated 100 bags of cement to the Presbyterian Church Ntamulung. The cement will be used for the construction and equipment of a new manse for the parish pastor, as well as offices for the presbytery.

The donation is a significant contribution to the church's fundraising efforts, which aim to raise over FCFA 22,000,000 for the project. Mayor Chenwi Peter had initially pledged to support the project during a church service on February 19th, where the Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) group of PC Ntamulung was celebrated for coming 2nd at the National Annual Rally in December.

During the service, Mayor Chenwi Peter awarded the CMF group FCFA 300,000 for their achievement. He also expressed his commitment to developing the municipality and beautifying houses of worship, stating that it was incumbent upon him to support the project.

Cement officially handed over by Mayor Louis Angwafo

The cement was officially handed over to the church on March 1st by the Bamenda II council's 1st deputy, Louis Angwafo. The parish pastor, Teneng Lucas, expressed gratitude on behalf of the church, acknowledging the mayor's commitment to supporting community development projects.

The donation is a testament to Mayor Chenwi Peter's dedication to improving the lives of residents in Bamenda II. His support for the Presbyterian Church Ntamulung's project demonstrates his recognition of the important role that community institutions play in promoting social cohesion and development.

"I wish to sincerely thank all those who stood by me to see that this pledge is realized. When my friends heard of it, they came out powerfully to support me. To this, I say a big thank you.

"As a Presbyterian, a manse is almost the reflection of the Presbytery. The new Manse will be beautiful and the Presbytery Secretary will be able to host his fellow colleague Pastors and guest." Mayor Chenwi said.
