From Education To Politics:Senator Prof. Nebah Bridget Ndosiri Ndoye's Remarkable Journey as a Champion for Women's Empowerment

Senator Prof. Nebah Bridget Ndosiri Ndoye from the North-West Region,  is a trailblazer in education, politics, and gender advocacy in Cameroon. As a visionary leader,  champion for education, and a staunch advocate for gender equity, she has dedicated her life to empowering women and uplifting young girls. As a seasoned academician and astute politician, she embodies a unique blend of scholarship and public service, leaving an indelible mark on both education and Politics in Cameroon. 

She is a professor of inorganic chemistry at the University of Yaoundé I. Senator Prof. Nebah Ndosiri has also served as the Mezam 1A Section President of the CPDM Women’s Wing for over a decade. 

Her political journey, has been defined by her relentless pursuit of women’s inclusion in decision-making spaces.
She is committed to Empowering Women and  Championing their political Representation. Before her tenure in the Senate, she served as an inspector of services and later as a technical advisor at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the Family. 

These roles cemented her passion for women's rights and propelled her advocacy for gender mainstreaming in politics.

“True democracy thrives when women are not just participants but active decision-makers,” she often asserts, mobilizing women to take part in governance. Through workshops, political forums, and grassroots engagement, she has encouraged countless women to register in the voters roll and aspire for leadership positions.

She is a sounding voice for education and economic independence for women; believing that literacy is the foundation of empowerment. Senator Prof. Ndoye has spearheaded initiatives to support girls’ education.

 Through her annual Academic Excellence Award, she has rewarded outstanding students with scholarships and school materials. In the 2023/2024 academic year, she funded scholarships for 53 girls, and expanding the scheme to include boys in 2024/2025, underscoring her belief that nation-building is a shared responsibility and not only for men or women only.


Her impact extends beyond academics; she actively promotes economic empowerment for women, organizing training programs on income-generating activities. She led the 2018 Head of State's Peacekeeping mission in Bamenda I, ensuring total school resumption in the Sub Division. 
She strongly believes that financial independence is a prerequisite for political participation, stating, "Poverty keeps women away from politics. We must equip them economically to give them a voice."

 Twice knighted, she is currently the Officer of the Order of Valour, she empowers women, girls, and the underprivileged through distinguished community service. She has built for herself a legacy of peace and community development.  

Beyond education and politics, she is a fierce advocate for peace and social cohesion. At the North West Regional Assembly, she has championed the integration of women’s issues in the Peace and Development Initiative, ensuring that policies address the unique challenges faced by women and girls.

Through her NGO, Creative Solutions Outreach Network, she has led community outreach programs, reinforcing her commitment to fostering prosperity and unity. Her dedication to advocacy, leadership, and community service continues to inspire a new generation of women leaders in Cameroon.

As the world pushes for gender equality, Senator Prof. Nebah Bridget Ndosiri Ndoye stands tall, a beacon of hope, a catalyst for change, and a relentless voice for women’s empowerment.
