The Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) Mezam IV Section, Bafut have celebrated the party's 40th anniversary with great enthusiasm.
According to Ngwakongoh Lawrence, section president of the CPDM Mezam IV Bafut, the party is experiencing a "new birth" as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
"Life begins at 40, and we are celebrating a new steam, looking at how to widen our tentacles to all the suburbs of Bafut, where the CPDM is existing," he said.
Mayor Ngwakongoh reiterated the section's commitment to delivering 100% of votes to President Biya in the upcoming presidential elections. "We are putting new wine into an old calabash to ensure that the CPDM party becomes more tasteful in Mezam IV. We are pledging 100% behind our natural candidate, His Excellency President Paul Biya."
The section president expressed confidence in the section's preparedness for the polls, citing the successful registration of eligible voters on the electoral register. "During this phase of registration, we have continued with our mobilization, and we even have youths leaving schools like the University of Bamenda to register for the elections."
Tabod Jacqueline Mah epse Mejang, Central Committee Resource person for Mezam IV, emphasized the importance of voter registration and encouraged all militants to register. "If you don't register, you cannot express yourself on the day of elections."
The CPDM party in Mezam IV has received a new impetus with the creation of the subsection Presidents come together which brings all the subsection Presidents for coordinated activities, advancement of voter's registration and holistic voter's registration.
Chiefs of Alom Valley and other villages in Bafut subdivision have regularly visited the section President with their concerns to advance the ideals of the party in the community.
The celebration was attended by Fons and notables from Bafut, who accompanied the militants of the section. The event marked a significant show of support for President Biya and the CPDM party ahead of the presidential elections.
