A joint section conference of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) was held in Esu, Wemeh Sub section, under the theme "CPDM militants of Menchum II section, consolidating peace, unity, and paving the way for development."
The conference, chaired by Section President Hon Kum John Nji, aimed to rally militants ahead of the upcoming presidential and regional elections and to reawaken the spirit amongst militants.
In his keynote address, Kum John Nji expressed gratitude for the gradual return to normalcy in the Sub division,thanks to the collaborative efforts of the population, defense and security forces, and the administration. He emphasized the importance of peace building as a collective responsibility, urging militants to be exemplary in their actions.
The Section President also called on militants to register massively on the electoral list, reaffirm their commitment to the party's ideals, and condemn all acts of violence and hate speech. He encouraged responsible social media use and vigilance against manipulators who have nothing concrete to offer.
In a significant announcement, Kum John Nji revealed a road project worth one billion FRS for the construction of the road from Weh, Esu to Kpep in Furu Awa subdivision. He enjoined militants demonstrate unity and dedication to the party's vision. The host councilor in Esu revealed that Esu has enjoyed it's fair share of projects funded by the state.
Councilor Umaru Jinguru cited solar streets lights, classrooms in some government schools, market sheds,a bridge Crossing Emia through Zhogoven to Mulang amongst other projects. The electricity crises across Fungom will soon be a thing of the past. Hon Nji said there are plans to electrify other villages in Fungom from Bafmeng. The Muslim communities received a consignment of items to include sugar, savon and other items to assist in this period of fasting.
Militants have also been educated on the new procedure in obtaining the national identity card which is the only means of getting a voters cards.
