Breaking Barriers: Senator Regina Mundi Paves the Way for Women in Politics

Senator Mrs Regina Mundi, CPDM Political Bureau Member

The 2025 Edition of International Women's Day will be celebrated under the theme; "For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” The theme focuses on the empowerment of women especially in representation.

One of such woman who have been able to break the myth that politics is not a man's game, is Senator Mrs Regina Mundi.

The erudite politician who is down to earth and carefully listens to the masses, has made a significant contribution to the development of the North West Region.

Her module has been the fight against mother and infant mortality. Her drive towards this has seen her donate kits to women in Bamenda and Tubah as well foot the bills for complicated pregnancies.

In the Senate, she has pressed hard for the continuation of construction works on the Bamenda reference hospital. Her dedication towards quality healthcare has been saluted across the board.

In politics, her continuous drive towards servant leadership has also been greeted. While encouraging more women in politics, Senator Mrs Regina Mundi has held several coordination meetings with elected Members of Parliament and Mayors to work to realize the promises made to the electorates as well as have coordinated actions.

Ma Mundi, the Grassroot politician

As the lone Northwesterner in the political bureau of the CPDM, She led a delegation of female senators of the North West Region to visit young victims of the February 11th bomb blast in Nkambe, which were ferried from Nkambe to the Bamenda Regional Hospital, with gifts showing her commitment to supporting those affected by violence. Additionally, Senator Mundi visited the Bamenda main market after it was ravaged by  fire on February 22nd, leaving over 300 stalls destroyed. Her presence brought hope and comfort to the victims, demonstrating her dedication to the well-being of her constituents.

Senator Mundi has been a vocal advocate for the completion of construction works on the Bamenda Referral Hospital, recognizing the critical need for quality healthcare infrastructure in the region. Through her tireless efforts, Senator Regina Mundi has demonstrated her dedication to serving her community, promoting women's rights, and advocating for improved healthcare infrastructure.
