In Njenka Bali, Hon Nestus handed food items meanwhile Mayor Nwadum headed an envelope to the Muslim Community
The Honourable Member of Parliament for Bamenda-Bali accompanied by the Mayor of Bali have donated a consignment of food items to the Muslim community of Njenka.
Hon. Nestus Fru Manju and Nwadum Ernest Bunga saluted the Muslim community for contributing enormously to the peace that now reigns in Bali.
"A few months ago I was sick and operated upon. While recovering in Hospital, the Muslim community mobilized, came and prayed with me. Miraculously I left the hospital and have been fine since then." Mayor Nwadum said.
To further ensure that the community is fine, the construction of a borehole at the Bali central mosque in Njenka as well as modern slaps to replace the local wooden desks used as slaps to accompany the butchers, was announced to commence in a week's time by the Mayor.
The Rice, flour, sugar and cash that was handed was greatly saluted by the population who expressed their great delight.
Speaking to the Observer, one of the faithfuls said "we are observing the last 10 days of Ramadan. It is a time we engage into night prayers. It is really spiritual so these items will really facilitate the needy towards a successful end to the Ramadan." Babila Elvis, said.
To Honourable Nestus Fru Manju, he came to hand this to the population as a sign of encouragement to the peace they enjoy. He called on them to pray for the President of the Republic, Paul Biya and Cameroon.
The Muslim holy month of the Ramadan is characterised by fasting, prayers and a donation to the poor and the needy.
The long month fast is in its Day 21, today.
