The Honourable Member of Parliament for Nkambe Central Constituency, Hon Ngala Gerard has won the 2024 Service to Humanity Award by The Guardian Post Daily Newspaper.
While conferring the award to the philanthropist and outstanding Member of Parliament, the Publisher of the Daily Newspaper remarked that the award is for; "For your outstanding humanitarian works nationwide and for paying special attention to the IDPs, through boosting Education, healthcare, peace promotion and fostering living together." Ngah Christian said.
The works of the MP in the promotion of peace in his constituency, grants to small and medium sized businesses and an ambassador for Education is well known in Cameroon and beyond.
Hon Ngala Gerard championed for schools to remain open in Nkambe and Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region when the two English-speaking regions went for an outright school boycott. His remarkable achievement in this domain has made Nkambe an envy of the entire region.
Also, quality healthcare and the participation of young persons in entrepreneurial activities have been linked to the Member of Parliament.
Conferred on him at La Falaise Hotel in Yaounde, Friday 21st February 2025, Honourable Ngala Gerard dedicated the award to the people of Nkambe who have been steadfast and adhering to the ideals of peace, participatory development and youth Empowerment.
Speaking Exclusively to The Observer, He has pledged to "continue to make our constituents proud, Nkambe special and Donga Mantung a place to be." Hon Ngala said.
Less than a month ago, the Association of Investigative Journalists knighted Hon Ngala Gerard for his leadership in the promotion of peace and social Cohesion.
The Guardian Post achievement award initiated some 22 years ago is carefully tailored to recognize and encourage both Cameroonians and even foreigners living in Cameroon who offer a selfless service to the community.
Laureates of The Guardian Post Achievement Award are voted by the Newspaper's readers, spread in all of the country's ten regions while compilation and final counting of votes is done by a Jury.
