Cleaning items handed to Quarter heads

While handing over the cleaning tools, the city Mayor said: ""One of our key values is a clean environment. We want Bamenda to be clean. That is what we hold at very high esteem and so we're doing all we can within our means to ensure that Bamenda is clean and we of course we are aware that the cleanliness of our municipality is not the singular responsibility of the enterprise charged with the cleaning. It is a collective responsibility and in this vein we are including the quarter heads, the mayors and all the people who live in Bamenda One so as to see that collectively we have a clean Bamenda One. These equipments are of course going to be effective because it will first of all start by stopping the dumping of garbage on the streets. It will be collected and the cleaning company will be going from door to door and collecting them and then taking them to the various dump sites. So in no distant future we are convinced that Bamenda will have no street mounted of garbage, no garbage on our streets. That's what our purpose is."Paul Achombong said.

"We talk of a clean up campaign activity. Yeah, of course, this will be followed up with a cleanup activity to reinforce this purpose. Every month we will be out to make sure that we create an awareness in the minds of the houses of our people to ensure that the place is clean. They will do this cleaning as a lifestyle, not just because it's an obligation, but it's a lifestyle. And of course, Bamenda becomes cleaner and becomes a habit for us to keep a clean environment."  Paul Achombong reiterated.

Mayor Mbigha Felix of Bamenda I

To Mayor Mbigha Felix, ""This has come to reinforce the campaign that we had to keep Bamenda clean. You remember last year Bamenda One was first in Mesdam and third in the region. And now that the campaign is coming to us in Bamenda, we are trying to do this so that maybe Bamenda One will be first this time nationally. So this has come really to reinforce and keep the environment clean. We have equally had a deliberation that we will have all last Fridays of the month as a cleanup campaign in the municipality. So I am seizing this opportunity to inform everybody who lives in Bamenda One, all business people in Bamenda One, that it starts as from next month. The last Friday of the month we will have a cleanup campaign where the mayor, the geo and other stakeholders will go around to supervise to see that these things that we have given to the population, they are putting them into use". Mbigha said.
