Additionally, 35-year-old Ndzikem Carine was killed around Amour Mezam, with four others critically injured due to separatist fighters.
In a special operation led by Lt. Colonel Alobwede Muabe Peter of the Gendarmerie Territorial Regiment on the night of January 18, three separatist fighters were killed, and four guns were retrieved, including three AK-47s.
Other items seized included 361 bullets, three telephones, a large quantity of Indian hemp, and "odeshi" jackets.
According to officers of the Gendarmerie Territorial Regiment, the gang, originating from Nso in Bui Division, aimed to wreak havoc and destabilize Bamenda. The group has been linked to several kidnappings and ransom demands.
