CBC Inducts Rev Dr Teke John Ekema as 15th Executive President

Rev Dr Teke John Ekema has been inducted as the 15th Executive President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, the CBC.

The 45 year old who hails from Bokwango in Buea subdivision, South West Region of Cameroon has placed his administration under the theme: "Peace and Holistic Development."

Administration congratulates incoming CBC Officers 

Rev Dr Teke John Ekema was officially inducted into his functions at the Nkwen Baptist Church, Saturday 11th January 2024 by the former Executive President of the CBC, Rev Dr Nditemeh Charlemagne.

While inducting him, he called on the New Executive President to uphold the Bible as the first working document of the church and all the other administrative documents consisting of the constitution, the internal rules and the by-laws of the church. Rev Dr Nditemeh encouraged the incoming President not to be afraid of criticism and to permanently keep his shoulders below his Head.

Heads of Departments of the CBC, Field Pastors, Heads of movements all paid allegiance to the incoming President, as the new proprietor of all the institutions of the Cameroon Baptist Convention.

Rev Dr Teke John Ekema, holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Divinity from Nairobi Kenya.


While officially addressing the church, he saluted the works of his predecessor who worked tirelessly to ensure that minority groups within the CBC can also hold leadership positions.

Under the banner of truth, equity and development, Rev Dr Nditemeh Charlemagne carried out reforms in the CBC and for the second time in the history of the church, a Southwesterner has been elected to lead the church.

Drawing inspiration from Acts 6:1-7, Rev Dr Teke says he will work for an inclusive church, one that values the rights of the minority. He said he dreams of a CBC that will one day be led by our francophone brothers.

He used his induction to call on those who have taken the church to court during the mandate of his predecessor, to withdraw the cases and settle the matter in-house.

Kongor John Kwa, CBC Chairman

To accompany the Executive President to carry-on the task of leadership is the new Chairman of the Church, Kongor John Kwa. The retired Principal has pledged to work to expand the organs of the church, bring unity and inclusive development. He will be assisted by Madam Caroline Monte as Vice Chair. Caroline Monte holds a Masters Degree in Public Health and is currently undergoing studies to obtain a PhD in Public Health and Hygiene.

The 70 year old Cameroon Baptist Convention will anchor the spreading of the gospel in 2025 under the theme, Year of Jubilee.
