Kebila Sylvester Junior popularly known as I Go Die international and Pidkin for MacChi has won the 2024 Best Pidgin Newscaster Award.
The award was conferred on him in Douala on Friday 20th December 2024.
Organized by the Association of English-speaking Musicians (ACEM), the fans of the various nominees were given time to vote for their favourite newscater and Kebila Sylvester Junior took a commanding lead from Day one to the final day.
Speaking to The Observer, Kebila Junior said; "Glory to God for this outstanding award. I remain grateful to him for the strength to carry out this daunting task in a region hit by crisis.
"To be candid, it is not easy. They're heart wrecking stories that you ask yourself how do I tell this particular story? But God has always given us a way not just to tell the stories but to stay safe.
"Lastly I want to deeply appreciate my listeners. Without them this could not have been possible. They voted for me with all their strength and might. Thank you all for the love you have shown to me over these years." Kebila Sylvester Junior said.
The pidgin language Newscaster over Dream FM Radio, 98.5 FM and Star TV has one of the most listened flagship news programs in Bamenda broadcast every Monday to Friday at 10am.
