The Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze has debunked rumours of an imminent Increment in the prices of fuel in the 2025 draft budget.
The Minister stated after defending the second part of the Finance bill that there were no plans of government to increase the pump prices in Cameroon.
He says the government's idea to reduce the allocations for fuel subsidy is due to the drop in the prices of fuel in the world market which is almost the prices of fuel currently sold in Cameroon.
Cameroon has budgeted 15 billion for fuel subsidy in 2025.
The outing of the Minister of Finance comes a day after the last set of Ministers defended their budgetary allocations before the committee on Finance and Budget of the National Assembly under the chairmanship of Hon Rosette Ayayi.
These are the budgetary allocations of the 13 Ministers received at the National Assembly on Thursday 5th December 2024.

A plenary setting to debate the 2025 Finance bill has been slated for Sunday 8th December 2024.
