The Member of the North West Regional Assembly, Hamza Danpullo has handed over bags of rice and flour to the Christian community of old Town, Bamenda.
The donation exercise, Tuesday 24th December 2024 is historic as it marks one of the very first donations at Christmas from a Muslim faithful.
Speaking to the men, women and children who turnout at the Sarki's palace, Hamza Danpullo said " I decided to share these gifts to my christian brothers and sisters because we are one. Even the Quran teaches us to live together in harmony and in peace with our neighbours. So today, we are preaching the virtues of peace, tolerance and a harmonious living together." Hamza Danpullo said
Distribution of items
On behalf of the community, Councillor Tasah Godlove appreciated the gesture. "This is a very rare occurrence. We want to sincerely appreciate the Regional Councillor for this magnificent gesture. It will go a long way to aid our families better celebrate Christmas." Councillor Tasah said.

One of the beneficiaries, Naguah, expressed her unreserved thanks to the Member of the North West Regional Assembly for the gesture. she stated that "I did not even know what I will do tomorrow. Now I'm relieved." She said.
Bags of rice and flour
Over 200 bags of rice were distributed to the population.
