The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, Rt Rev Samuel Fonki Forba has called on the critics of the church to seek the face of God.
He was speaking at PC Buea Town, Sunday 17th November 2024 as the Synod to officially elect his replacement at the helm of the church gets underway.
Rt Rev Samuel Fonki Forba said; " We are opposed by the people of the world who know nothing about the church. They have even gone to recruit Christians from other churches.
"If God were not on our side, the PCC would have been torn apart. You cannot bring down the roof of the PCC.
"If the Lord were not on our side, we would have given up to our enemies. He has given us the power to overcome our enemies and they have been torn apart from the inside. Our help is in the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
"We saw the power of the unrestricted God. The church of God is still alive and vibrant. Praise God, the church is indestructible. Rev Fonki said.
To the critics of the church who have been throwing diatribes on social media, Rev Fonki had a message for them.
"The church is not governed on social media. Let them call themselves House of Truth with deceitful people, they should continue granting press conferences and using all social media platforms. The church of Christ will never come to its knees before the people.
"The church is rooted on God and cannot be uprooted by men." The Moderator emphasized.
Rt Rev Samuel Fonki Forba has been credited for the massive infrastructural development he has carried out during his 10-year stay at the helm of the PCC. The Presbyterian Hospital complex in Bamenda and the Synod office in Buea are cited as living examples of a man who came with transformative ideas at the helm of the church.
The sermon delivered by Rev Fonki is the last till his successor is elected on Monday 18th November 2024.
The Synod of 'Blessed Assurance' has been charged to build a stronger PCC that will meet the challenges of the circular society and a PCC that is on God's side.
For a moderator who successfully managed the church through the COVID-19 pandemic and Anglophone crisis, Rev Fonki on leaving the pulpit called on the Christians not to fight against one another because a new era is about to begin.
