Cameroon's Minister of Defense, Joseph Beto Assomo has issued a Communique reassuring the public that the formal investigations have been opened against those who beat up Longue Longue.
In his communique made public, Thursday 24th October 2024, the case Minister stated that he "immediately instructed his specialized services to open investigations."

He has promised to shed more light on the issue once investigations are done.
The video that leaked online on Wednesday 23rd October 2024 was taken five years ago with Longue Longue tied up and a machete used in beating him on the legs.
The perpetrators are believed to belong to the Littoral Military security Branch, SEMIL.

Born as Simon Agno Longkana in 1973, the musician Longue Longue is known for his highly critical music of the Biya-regime that gained national and international prominence in the early 2000s.
The video footage has received condemnation from across the board including 2025 Presidential hopeful, Akere Muna.
