In their numbers, sympathizers and supporters of the governing Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement trooped into the courtyard of the office of the SDO of Mezam to celebrate the legacy of President Paul Biya.
Accompanied by their elites in government, the supporters came from all the seven Divisions of the North West, dancing to the rhythm of their drums and celebrating the life and legacy of a Statesman of no common repute, President Paul.
The projection of the documentary-film, "Paul Biya A Great statesman with an extraordinary destiny." was the 9th film projection across Cameroon.
Speaker after speaker raised President Biya to sainthood. A man who has an uncommon patience and who is a begger for peace.
To Senator Mrs Regina Mundi, Acting Regional Coordinator of the CPDM in the North West, Paul Biya is truly a friend. She enumerated the achievements of President Biya especially in the health domain as well as the promotion of women affairs.
She cited the Universal Health Coverage that allows for pregnant women to pay just a token for child birth from the start of the pregnancy to the moment when the baby is born no matter the complication.
Also, children under 5 benefit from free treatment of maleria.
Senator Mrs Mundi also saluted the peace initiative of the President with the creation of the DDR Centres. She announced that an estimated 500 ex fighters have been reintegrated into the community.
"We must embrace peace if we want to move the North West Region forward." Mrs Mundi said.
To the President of the North West Regional Assembly, the President has shown that he is a true friend of the region by the continuous appointment of North West sons and daughters to posts of responsibility.
North West sons and daughters currently head the Ministries of Territorial Administration, the Ministry of Mines and the Ministry of Supreme State Audit. With several Ministers Delegates and Secretaries of state. Fru Angwafo said the convening of the Major National Dialogue and the special status accorded to the North West and South West Regions and the institution of the Public Independent Conciliator are counted amongst the special considerations of the Head of the state.
The exceptional steps taken by Paul Biya in continuously begging for peace despite the crisis in the North West was really applauded.
The documentary-film projection lasted for 90 minutes and it is produced by two Cameroonian ladies, Cathy Meba and Solange Edimo with an artistic touch from the Ministry of Arts and Culture all under the supervision of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic.
It projects the early life of Paul Biya, his rise to power, his leadership models in every sector especially the Military, education and in diplomacy.
In the documentary, plenty of tributes were paid to the President for his peaceful resolution of the Bakassi crisis, the suppression of terrorist acts in the North and the uncommon wisdom in diplomacy.
With a lot of support from the Elites of the North West, the population left the scene with a different ideology of the man Paul Biya.
This is the 9th region to project the documentary. The last projection will be done in Ebolowa, South Region.
