On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Help for the Helpless Association undertook an initiative to distribute essential food supplies to vulnerable individuals at the conference hall of New City Hotel in Old Town Bamenda.

The event was organized to provide support for those facing severe health challenges, including persons with disabilities and others who find themselves in precarious situations. The association's commitment to uplifting the community was evident as they sought to address immediate needs while fostering a spirit of compassion and unity among residents.

Medical support

The distribution of food supplies included bags of rice, sanitary pads, and an undisclosed amount in cash for patients grappling with critical health conditions. This outreach did not only aimed to alleviate hunger and provide basic necessities but also aligned with the association's broader mission to share the teachings of Christ. By educating guardians on essential home training practices for children, the organization hopes to instill values of care and responsibility within families, ensuring a lasting impact on the community's future generations. The combination of material support and spiritual guidance reflects the association's holistic approach to community service.

Beneficiaries were carefully selected from various neighborhoods within Bamenda, including Siasia Quarter, Old Town, and Ntamulung, highlighting the association's inclusive approach. Recognizing the diverse needs of the community, the organizers ensured that the most vulnerable individuals were prioritized in the selection process. Before the distribution began, the association conducted informative lectures focused on hygiene and sanitation, emphasizing the importance of personal care and environmental cleanliness. These sessions were particularly beneficial for young girls and women, who received detailed instructions on the proper use of sanitary pads, including guidelines on how long they should be worn to maintain health and hygiene.

The event was further enriched by a powerful message from the presiding pastor, who took the opportunity to inspire the attendees with a quote from Matthew 6:33: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." This biblical reference served to reinforce the association's commitment to spreading the gospel of Jesus, offering hope and spiritual nourishment to the community. The pastor's address resonated deeply with many attendees, reminding them of the importance of faith and resilience in overcoming life's challenges.
