The presentations highlighted the management pillars in force at CAMTEL which are centered around the concepts of change management and customer centricity, they also covered key notions on data security and collaboration between law enforcement telecommunications.

Addressing the auditors and other guests present, Deputy General Manager Daniel Désiré Ollé highlighted the fact that “Artificial intelligence (AI) raises crucial questions about the protection of personal data, respect for privacy and compliance with regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)”. He also pointed out that Transparency was a major issue.

At CAMTEL, he said “we integrate these requirements into our technical-commercial processes to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI”.
The head of the ESIGY delegation, Brigadier General Nka Valère, on behalf of the executives and auditors thanked their host CAMTEL for the warm reception and knowledge shared.

“Camtel's visit is part of the leadership and management modules in the training of auditors at the Yaounde International War College” General Nka Valère said.

He added that the themes chosen were directly in line with the international colloquium held at the college last May on the theme “Artificial Intelligence: a threat or an opportunity for Africa?”

To the Yaounde International War College, the Deputy GM said he hoped the initiative of the visit will not be the last and that “training and exchanges of good practice will become recurrent”.

The links between the army and the nation which are dear to the Head of State, H.E Paul Biya, “will flourish through forums for exchange such as this meeting, which will have an impact on all spheres of public life in our country”.

Ollé wished the management of the college success and happiness and seized the opportunity to share with them that CAMTEL has been celebrating its 25th anniversary since September 8, 2023 under the patronage of the President of the Republic.

This celebration is centred on major themes relating to the contribution of digital technology and telecommunications to the structural transformation of the Cameroonian economy, as set out in the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (SND30).

Worth mentioning that a competition for the best tech-developers and start-ups in the digital sector, entitled the Blue Tech Challenge, is currently underway.
