Global Peace Let’s Talk has achieved a major milestone in promoting compassionate leadership and conflict resolution with the successful completion of its first online certificate course in Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and Servant Leadership. The course, which wrapped up on July 20, 2024, marks a significant advancement in equipping individuals with vital skills to tackle global challenges through effective communication and empathetic leadership.
Attracting over 70 participants from a diverse range of backgrounds and countries, the course aimed to bridge cultural divides and deepen understanding of NVC and servant leadership. It was designed to address the urgent need for skills in conflict resolution, empathy-building, and fostering sustainable peace, which are increasingly relevant in our often divided and complex world.
Janith Perera, Co-lead of the program, emphasized the transformative potential of the course. "This course is grounded in the belief that effective communication and compassionate leadership are essential for addressing global issues," Perera stated. This focus underscored NVC’s critical role in fostering constructive dialogue and cultivating environments where peaceful resolutions can thrive.
In parallel, the curriculum explored servant leadership, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the needs of others and building supportive environments. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants learned how the synergy between servant leadership and NVC can enhance team cohesion and resilience. This combined approach illustrated how these principles can work together to promote a more empathetic and effective leadership style.
The course culminated with a final assessment on July 20th, during which participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their achievements. This final milestone highlighted the successful culmination of an enriching experience, showcasing participants’ newly acquired skills and their readiness to apply these principles in their personal and professional endeavors.
