Bafut subdivision: Notables of Acheni Village salutes Mayor Ngwakongoh's development strides, lobbies for projects in 2025

Elites of Acheni village in Bafut subdivision paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Bafut for his strides in developing the subdivision.

The delegation led by Munatah Christopher, chairman of the Acheni Development Association presented a plethora of worries as they celebrated an award recently won by the Mayor as the most dynamic Mayor as well as his twinning partnerships with councils in Canada.

"We always run to our father each time we have issues in our community and as the father that he is, each time he travels out and comes back we run to him to know what he brought back".

"And today our cry is for the Mayor to assist us to have electricity and good roads in our area". Munatah Christopher

Notables lobby for projects

The worries stretch from Electricity to roads in the Acheni village given that the village already has available water, there is need for Electricity and good roads to foster the development of the village.

Responding to the requests of these elites, Mayor Ngwakongoh Lawrence reassured them of works in the village in the coming days. Following the deposition of contract files at the level of FEICOM (Council support Fund for mutual assistance ) and MINTP ( Ministry of Public Works) for studies.

"The delegation came to present the main worries of the village which runs from Electricity and the constitution of the Mbih Bridge which studies have been done and I will do my all to secure the funding for its construction". Mayor Ngwagongho Lawrence 

The Mayor noted with satisfaction that if the electricity extension is matured in time, the project will be injected into the 2025 priority projects for the council.

The visit of the notables from Acheni village adds to a number of visits from the various villages that make up Bafut, saluting him for his great efforts in making Bafut a place to be despite the ravaging effects of the Anglophone crisis.

Mayor Ngwakongoh assures them of strides being made to bring sustainable development 

To ensure that the youths are engaged in something meaningful, the Mayor decided to sponsor a Holiday football championship in the village.


The visit adds to that of the Fons of Lower Bafut (Alom Valley) who visited the Mayor earlier this year.
