Some 41 persons were decorated with Labour medals at the 2024 international Labour Day celebrations in Bamenda.
Of the 41, 40 were from the Bamenda City Council.
The City Mayor, Paul Achobong saluted the exceptional input that the staff has given to the council over the years.
"They all deserve this recognition for the exceptional services they have been rendering to this city. You will discover this they cut across the board from office staff to field staff to the Municipal police."
Quizzed as to what he expects from them after this medal, the City Mayor was categorical that to "whom more is given, more is expected." He challenged them to be exceptional in service delivery going forward.
The 40 recipients received their medals from the Governor of the North West Region, Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique.
The 138th edition of the International Labour Day took place under the theme:Constructive social dialogue, a factor in the promotion of decent work and social progress”.
