The National executive of the Wimbum Cultural and Development Association (WICUDA) has donated three wheel chairs and some cash to victims of the 11th February blast in Nkambe.
The delegation led by the Vice President of the association, Ngwai Odilia, supported by the Bamenda chapter, donated the wheel chairs Wednesday 24th April 2024.
At the Bamenda Regional Hospital, they met the victims all smiling, hailing them for the support that they gave them since the incident happened.
One of the caregivers told The Observer that since February 11, they have lacked absolutely nothing and are grateful for what WICUDA has done to them.
Ngwai Odilia who was present when the incident occurred in Nkambe narrates that 125 victims were rushed to the Nkambe Regional Hospital Annex. WICUDA on the auspices of Forgwa Rogers contributed money to feed the victims and caregivers till when they left Hospital.
WICUDA Bamenda also ensured that the most severe cases that were referred to Bamenda did not lack anything.
The victims have spent two months at the Bamenda Regional Hospital and all of them are stable and of the five victims at the Regional hospital, one has been discharged and the rest will be discharged progressively.
Dr Nsame Denis stated that three of the five had their limbs amputated and this will go a long way to ensuring that they fully recover.
"They will be going home soon and the rehabilitation process will commence from there. To note that since they started receiving treatment, it has been free of charge."
The Director used the visit to express thanks to all the other persons who have visited the hospital to encourage the kids.
The five victims are between the ages of 15 to 21 and have responded positively to treatment.
The smiles on their faces resonated hope in the delegation from Wimbum General.
