Moïse Mugisha from Rwanda has emerged the winner of the 2022 edition of the Grand Prix Chantal Biya.
His team, Pro Touch won the 18th edition of the Cameroon Cycling Tour at the end of the 8th and last lap of the race with the Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, taking the race to another level.
CAMTEL returned as sponsor for this edition after a 10 year absence.
The Telecommunications giant awarded a prize of 500,000 Frs CFA to the Best Cameroonian cyclist, holder of the blue jersey.
Thanks to its optical Fibre and good network, Cameroon Telecommunications ensured the quality live broadcast of the race on national television.
The ceremony to handover prizes to the cyclists was presided over by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi and the Director General of CAMTEL, Judith Yah Sunday.
Apart from winning the individual prize, Pro Touch of Rwanda emerged the best team with a time of 79 hours and 41 minutes. The team finished ahead of Moroccan team and the SNH Velo club of Cameroon.
The competition concluded with 48 participants, 6 less than the 54 that started the competition.
