Muslims have intensified prayers as the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close.
For 28 days, the Muslims have undergone a dawn to dusk fast. The last days of the Ramadan is characterised by acts of charity where the rich donate to the poor in what is known as the Zarkat.
In Ntambag Quarters( Old Town) Bamenda, the Muslim community has been in joy after the donation of food items by Minister Felix Mbayu.
Received with plenty of praises, a Muslim cleric noted that he who gives to a Muslim during the period of Ramadan, shares in the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan just like he who has observed the fast.
Representatives from the palace of the Sarki of Old Town, prayed for God's abundant blessings to be bestowed on the life of Minister Mbayu and for his acts of charity to continue.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of the Commonwealth, Philo Happi praised the Muslim community for ensuring that peace and social cohesion has remained their hallmark in Bamenda.
Minister Felix Mbayu, popularly known as the old Town boy has been noted for acts of generosity. He has constantly supported the back-to-school drive with hundreds of students benefitting from didactic material to return to school, support mothers to better celebrate the end of year festivities and most recently, supported the construction of a mosque at Ntambag II Quarters.
