Mayor of Bafut receives award
For over a year since he took over the helm of Bafut Council as Mayor, his hard work has started paying off. Mayor Ngwakongoh Lawrence, Mayor of the Bafut Municipality last Saturday May 29, 2021 received an award from the Life Time Media group.
The life time achievement award for Nation builders 2020/2021 in recognition of merit to Mayor Ngwakongoh Lawrence as a Young, Dynamic and Pragmatic Mayor was handed to him by the Governor of West Region, Awah Fonka Augustine.
According to the recepient, the award is a boaster for him to work hard. "It has made me to understand that when you are dancing, make sure you dance well because you don't know who is admiring your dancing styles",the Mayor said
He added that when he was called for the award in Bafoussam to be handed by West Region's Governor, he was baffled that his activities in Bafut are being seen in the West region.
"If my activities in Bafut are seen in the West Region up to the point that am being awarded, why can't we all in Bafut come together so that the world will see us as development oriented? . I am using this as an opportunity to call on my brothers and sisters who are still holding hatred in their heart to give peace a chance and let's make Bafut better than what we found it", Mayor Ngwakongoh said
His pious is for the guns to stop smoking in his Municipality for meaningful, impactful and people oriented development to be fast tracked
