It was on Friday December 14th that the head of state, H.E Paul Biya appointed Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi as the General Manager of the Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL
Two years down the line the achievements of the first ever female CAMTEL GM is glowing
In her first year in office, Judith Yah Sunday increased the income generated by the corporation by 21% after extending CAMTEL's market to the DR Congo
CAMTEL under her astute leadership has been granted three concessions agreement authorising them to establish and operate a mobile electronic network with national coverage, operate a fixed electronic communications network with national coverage open to the public by wire line access and to operate an electronic communications network
All achievements are centered on her policy of change management and customer centricity which has given CAMTEL a new dimension in their operations
CAMTEL was at the centre in the organisation of the major national dialogue with broadband internet connection. The company has successfully organised the last two editions of the Chantal Biya international cycling tour
With the vision of the Head of State in mind to maintain CAMTEL as the leading Telecommunications company in the central African subregion, Madam Judith Yah Sunday has signed an E learning partnership with the Ministry of higher Education to boost the quality and speed of internet provided to all state universities and the Congo-Cameroon interstate university
As Cameroon hosts the rest of Africa in January and February 2021, the General Manager has just completed a 14-day field visit to sites selected to host the African Nations Championship, CHAN. Internet speed has been beefed up in all the stadia and hotels selected to host national teams
This is coming to add to the African volley Championship sponsored by CAMTEL in 2019
In all, while the nation smiles at the miles covered in just two years under her stewardship, CAMTEL workers on retirement have broader faces. The new GM has stabilized the retirement dues of workers while staff have their CNPS contributions paid monthly
