Support to needy: DANIHF Donates Didactic Materials To IDPs In Yaoundé

Ngwang Diana, Centre Regional coordinator hands didactic materials

Members of the Daddy Ndong International Humanitarian Foundation, DANIHF, have supported some internally displaced children from the crisis-hit North West region living in Yaounde with didactic materials that will assists them resume classes for the 2020/2021 school year.

The items comprising school bags, books, pens pencils, rulers, facemasks and others were handed to the IDPs at Oyom Abang in the Yaounde VII municipality Saturday 3 October 2020.

Speaking to the IDPs while handing over the items, the Centre Regional Coordinator of DANIHF, Ngwang Yuh Diana Joyce, said the not-for-profit organisation founded by US-based Cameroonian journalist, Ndong Elias, is out to provide support to the needy and put smile on the faces of persons in distress.

“Daddy Ndong as we fondly call him charged me to tell you all that we are a family and that he will do all it takes to put smile on your faces, especially in the domain of education,” Ngwang said, disclosing that DANIHF founder has promised to pay the fee and GCE registration of one of the kid in an examination class.

DANIHF members used the occasion to sensitise the IDPs on basic hygiene and sanitation measures that they will have to observe while on school campuses in a bid to avoid being contaminated by the Coronavirus.

On her part, the host of the IDPs, Quinta Rita Edang, thanked DANIHF members and founder for thinking about her and the IDPs, adding that the items will go a long way to lessen the burden on her ahead of the school resumption.

“I lack words to thank him because things are very difficult for me and these kids. Once you have people from the North West and South West regions living with you, then you become part of the crisis. Having someone not related to you reach out to your kids is wonderful,” said Edang, while praying God to replenish the founder. She pledged to become part of the foundation and all its activities after being touched by their action.

Soubatse Princia Mine on behalf of the other IDPs thanked the foundation and its founder for the wonderful gesture and promised to make good use of the school items and succeed in their exams.

The foundation with its motto “we are a family” has promised to do more donations to persons in need. Before the donation in Yaounde, the foundation visited and handed basic needs and food items to Mountain Kids Orphanage in Buea.

The DANIHF founder has promised to take the next action to the Republic of Togo where school kit will be handed to the less privileged.
