The Mayor of Wum council, Dighambong Anthony has handed over Didactic materials to some 37 schools in his council area
While handing over the minimum packages, he called on headteachers to be brave more than ever before together with their staff to work ceaselessly for an effective 2020/2021 academic year
The minimum packages compromised of books, school registers, chalks, pens, rulers, benches and much more to ease the learning process
The inspector of Basic Education for Wum, Mr Bua John Ndifor, congratulated the Mayor for the timely donation of the materials
"This will help teachers better prepare for the start of the academic year on October 5th. The mobilisation has been fantastic this far." He said
The Municipality of Wum had some five private and secondary schools that were operational in the 2019/2020 academic year
Several lay private and government schools have been cleaned, arranged for an effective back to school 2020/2021
The ceremony held on September 30 at the Wum council hall served as an opportunity to remind the head teachers to respect barrier measures put in place by Government and the World Health Organization to combat the spread of the coronavirus in schools
The distribution of Didactic materials is an annual plan put in place by Government to assist schools of the basic Education sector with minimum packages to run their schools
