The North West Region will benefit from over 500 projects in the 2021 public investment budget. The projects will be spread across the seven Divisions of the Region.
These projects were presented in Bamenda Thursday August 6th, 2020 in a regional meeting for the maturation and programing of public investment projects of 2021
The Regional assembly was chaired by the by the Secretary General at the North West Governor's office, Viang Mekala.
With over 503 projects pending execution in 2021, authorities believe projects are very limited for the region as some subdivisions had little or no projects due to lack of collaborations with divisional delegates in the region.
To the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam Simon Emile Mooh, divisional delegates make work difficult for Mayors to create projects. The Bafut council was used as an example for lack of collaboration were technical services need extra motivations before projects are analyzed
"Following deliberations based on reasons for low maturation of projects, the SDO will henceforth serve as a link between Mayors and technical experts in the field. The state should equally deploy engineers to work directly under the councils to be funded by the state.” Viang said

Projects to be executed cut across Education, Health, livestock, and the Economy which will be fowarded to the country's political capital Yaounde for endorsement
The North West Region has suffered from low contract execution rates because of the ongoing socio-political crisis in the North West. Some council areas have sent back credits worth hundred of millions Francs CFA
