The North West Regional delegation of public health has opened a reinforcement centre at Matazem, entrance to the North West
The post has been opened thanks to support from the international committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with a mission to sensitise passengers on the spread of the coronavirus
The region has recorded 20 cases of the virus with 13 coming from other Regions with a majority from Douala, Cameroon's economic capital

After testing, passengers are handed personal preventive equipments (PPE) to help them improve personal hygiene while limiting the spread from one person to another
Inter-urban transportation is still active despite an upsurge in new cases around the country
At the reinforcement point, Dr Kingsley Che Soh, North West Regional delegate of public health laid emphasis on government measures put in place to curb the spread, emphasizing that they are life saving measures
"Put on your face mask, avoid crowded places, always wash your hands with soap. These are easy methods to apply," he noted
The region currently counts three deaths with 16 cases hospitalized
