The Mayor of the Bamenda 1 council, Mbigha Njah Felix has called on all and sundry to bring their all for the Development of his Council area
"This is your council. If you come for personal interest, the doors will be shut at you but if you come for us to think together and develop this council, you're welcome"
The Mayor was speaking at his installation this March 18th at the council chambers
in Bamendakwe
The 40 year old is a businessman who before his Election as Mayor of the Bamenda 1 municipality served as councillor for seven years. He is also the YCPDM Section President for Mezam 1A
In his Installation speech, Mezam SDO, Mooh Simon Emile enjoined them to respect the Code on Decentralisation which is the new Bible for councils. He reminded them that their tasks was a difficult one but the development of the council area is top priority
The SDO also took out time to tell the population about the pandemic the world is rising to see, the Coronavirus that is at the boundaries of Mezam. He sounded a loud bell that gatherings of above 50 persons will not be tolerated
Mbigha Njah Felix has as first mission to demolish makeshift structures around the custom area. He also has to fight the insurgency by separatists fighters in his council area
He is taking over the Bamenda 1 council from Mayor Caroline Bi Bongwa who served the area for seven years. Within her tenure, she won the best council award for the fight against tobacco consumption
Mbigha Felix will be assisted by two female Mayors who have a rich background in Education
Ths incoming Mayor is also the President of FECAFOOT NW. A position he has been occupying since November 2018
